Triston Casas Turning A Corner In His Rehab?
3 months agoBoston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas (ribs) could be close to turning a corner in his recovery process, one of the team trainers told manager Alex Cora. This comes after it was reported over the weekend that Casas wasn't particularly close to going out on a minor-league rehab assignment. We'll have to wait and see what is actually the case for the 24-year-old left-handed slugger, and he remains without a timetable for a return while recovering from torn cartilage in his left rib cage. Casas has been sidelined since late April, so he's going to need a lengthy rehab assignment, and fantasy managers shouldn't be expecting him back until at least mid-August. The former first-rounder has considerable power upside when healthy after clubbing a career-high 24 home runs in 132 games in his first full season in the big leagues for Boston in 2023.
