Trevor Williams Not His Best in San Diego
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Trevor Williams did not have his best stuff Saturday in San Diego. The righty went 4 2/3 innings and gave up four runs on four hits with two walks and four strikeouts. The Pirates would try to make a comeback in the ninth when catcher Elias Diaz and outfielder Austin Meadows both doubled off closer Brad Hand to cut the lead to one run. Gregory Polanco would triple, but get stranded on third for the 4-3 loss.
