Trevor Story To Take Batting Practice On Monday
4 months agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Trevor Story (shoulder) is going to take batting practice on the field on Monday. "It's a huge step. I'm truly believing he'll be a part of this," manager Alex Cora said. Nothing is guaranteed, but Story appears to be well ahead of schedule after having surgery for a fractured left shoulder in the middle of April, and the Red Sox aren't ruling him out for the rest of the season. Fantasy managers shouldn't get their hopes up, though, and there's still no timetable for a potential return. In all reality, the Red Sox would probably have to get into the playoffs and make a deep postseason run for the 31-year-old to have a shot at returning. Until Story is able to return either this year or next, the Red Sox will continue to roll with a combination of David Hamilton and Ceddanne Rafaela at the 6 in Beantown.
