Trevor Rogers Traded To Baltimore
4 months agoMiami Marlins starting pitcher Trevor Rogers is being traded to the Baltimore Orioles in exchange for infield prospect Connor Norby (O's fifth-ranked prospect) and outfielder Kyle Stowers, according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. Rogers has posted a 4.53 ERA and 1.53 WHIP through 105 1/3 innings of work this season. However, across his last five starts, Rogers has not allowed more than three earned runs and carries a 3.38 ERA and 1.42 WHIP. While he does boast a strong 47.0% ground-ball rate, he has a low 18.0% strikeout rate and a hefty 43.5 hard-hit rate. Rogers will likely slot in at the back end of the Baltimore rotation, which may force Albert Suarez into a bullpen role.
