Trevor Rogers Throws Five Shutout Innings In Rehab Start
1 year agoMiami Marlins left-hander Trevor Rogers (biceps) pitched well in his second minor-league rehab start for Triple-A Jacksonville on Sunday, going five shutout innings while allowing just one hit, walking one and striking out five to pick up a win. Rogers has now thrown nine scoreless innings with 12 punchouts in his two rehab starts. The 25-year-old southpaw has been out since April 21 due to a biceps strain, but he looks like he's getting close to rejoining Miami's starting rotation. There's no rush for the Fish to bring Rogers back, though, so don't be surprised if he makes one more start down on the farm. In four starts for the team before his injury, Rogers held a 4.00 ERA (4.12 FIP) and 1.22 WHIP with six walks and 19 strikeouts in 18 innings pitched.
