Trevor Rogers Resumes Playing Catch
1 year agoMiami Marlins left-hander Trevor Rogers (lat) started playing catch at Single-A Jupiter on Friday. It's been a lost season for Rogers this year, as he's made just four starts for the Marlins due to injuries. He was initially placed on the injured list in April with a left-biceps strain and then suffered a partial tear of his right lat in June. The 25-year-old left-hander is making progress and is hoping to be able to return for the final month of the regular season in September, but there's no guarantee that will happen, so he's likely on the waiver wire in mixed leagues at the moment. An All-Star in 2021, Rogers had allowed nine runs (eight earned) on 16 hits (two homers) while walking six and striking out 19 in 18 innings over his first four starts before getting hurt back in April.
