Trevor Rogers Lasts Just Four Innings On Saturday
3 years agoMiami Marlins rookie starting pitcher Trevor Rogers only made it through four innings on Saturday against the Atlanta Braves. Rogers allowed three runs (two earned) on four hits and two walks while striking out four. The Braves ran up his pitch count, as it took the rookie lefty 81 pitches to get just 12 outs. He ended up taking the loss, dropping to 7-6 and seeing his ERA go up a bit to 2.31. He'll be at the All-Star Game on Tuesday, and since it'll be his scheduled bullpen day, he may be able to get an inning in. The Marlins have said they'd likely shuffle their rotation coming out of the break to let Rogers get some extra rest, so he'll probably get the fourth or fifth game after the break.
