Trevor May Struggles Versus Nationals
1 year agoOakland Athletics right-hander Trevor May was given the ball with a four-run lead during Sunday's game against the Washington Nationals. The right-hander proceeded to allow five runs (three earned) on three hits and two walks. It didn't help that the defense only made mistakes as well, but May wasn't helping himself on the mound. The 33-year-old has been fairly solid with 12 saves on the season. However, the A's aren't in the playoff race, so it wouldn't be shocking if they decide to give some young pitchers a chance in the closer role. For now, fantasy managers who have May rostered can continue using him, but don't be surprised if they decide to shake it up.
