Trevor Larnach Dealing With Foot Injury
4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Trevor Larnach (foot) is currently dealing with a foot injury. He was hit in the foot by a pitch in Sunday's game. After the game, he was seen in a walking boot. The team is currently considering him day-to-day. He is not in the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. Kyle Garlick is covering left field in his place.

Trevor Larnach, Matt Wallner Sitting Against Lefty
8 months agoMinnesota Twins outfielders Trevor Larnach and Matt Wallner are taking a seat on the bench in Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader against the visiting division-rival Cleveland Guardians with left-hander Joey Cantillo on the mound. Manuel Margot is making the start in left field and will bat leadoff, while Royce Lewis shifts to designated hitter and is batting third against Cantillo. Jose Miranda is at third base and is hitting cleanup for the Twins. Margot has some sleeper appeal in the leadoff spot for DFS purposes, but he still has a pretty low fantasy ceiling and is batting .266 (30-for-113) with three of his home runs in 58 games against left-handed pitchers this year. Expect to see Larnach and Wallner back in action for Game 2 of the twin bill versus Guardians right-hander Alex Cobb.

Trevor Larnach Out Against Lefty
8 months agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Trevor Larnach will rest on Monday against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies with left-hander Ranger Suarez on the mound. In addition to Larnach, Matt Wallner and Edouard Julien will hit the bench. Jair Camargo is serving as the designated hitter and batting seventh, Manuel Margot is in left field and hitting leadoff, and rookie Brooks Lee is manning the keystone and batting sixth against Suarez for the series opener. The lefty-hitting Larnach has faced left-handers only eight times this year, so it shouldn't be a surprise that he's not starting on Monday. Against righties, he's hit .247 (48-for-194) with all 10 of his home runs and all but one of his RBI on the year. Margot has hit .289 (26-for-90) against southpaws in 2024 and is more attractive as a DFS sleeper in the leadoff spot, but he's added just three homers and four steals on the season.

Max Kepler, Trevor Larnach Sitting Versus Lefty
9 months agoWith Arizona Diamondbacks left-hander Jordan Montgomery on the bump for Thursday's series finale, Minnesota Twins outfielders Max Kepler and Trevor Larnach will both retreat to the bench, as usual. With both lefties starting on the pine on Thursday, Manuel Margot will start in right field and bat leadoff, with Kyle Farmer drawing into the lineup at second base and batting ninth against Montgomery. Infielder Jose Miranda will serve as the designated hitter and bat cleanup. Both Kepler and Larnach should be back in the fold for the Twins for Friday's series opener against the Seattle Mariners and right-hander Logan Gilbert. Margot is an intriguing DFS sleeper out of the leadoff spot on Thursday against Montgomery, whom he's hit .375 against in 16 career at-bats with a home run and three RBI.

Trevor Larnach Goes Yard In Sunday's Win
10 months agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Trevor Larnach was 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk during Sunday's 4-3 win over the Houston Astros. It was Larnach's third homer in his past four games and his sixth on the season. The 27-year-old started off the season with a hot stretch but hit a paltry .203 across May. Nevertheless, he is starting to round into form again and slashing a respectable .270/.333/.470 on the year. Larnach is a worthwhile depth outfielder in deeper leagues, especially if he continues to see the leadoff spot against right-handers.
