Trent Williams Wants To Be Traded Or Released
5 years agoWashington Redskins left tackle Trent Williams' agent, Vince Taylor, issued a statement saying that it's in the team's best interest to either trade or release his client. "Its' time for the organization to act in a manner that is in both Williams' and the team's best interest," Taylor wrote. Washington is asking for a second-round pick for a player who sat out all of the 2019 season, so teams understandably aren't biting. Williams is also demanding a new contract from any team that trades for him, and he wants $20 million per season. It's a lot to ask, even if he has made the Pro Bowl seven times in his career. He's on the wrong side of 30 (32 in July) and hasn't played a full season since 2013. But when healthy, Williams is still one of the better blind-side protectors in the league.
