Trent Thornton Tosses Another Solid Outing

Toronto Blue Jays starter Trent Thornton allowed two runs on three hits through 5 2/3 innings during a 3-2 loss to the Cleveland Indians on Friday night. He walked two batters while striking out seven. The 25-year-old has been a pleasant surprise during his inaugural season in the majors. He now has a 1.69 ERA, 0.66 WHIP and 15/2 K/BB rate through the first two starts of his MLB career. Thornton has shown enough promise to be warranted as a decent streaming option, depending on the matchup. He is expected to take on the Boston Red Sox in his next start, which is a tough matchup for the rookie.
