Trent Grisham Picks Up Three Hits, Homers On Sunday
4 months agoNew York Yankees outfielder Trent Grisham had a nice day at the plate in Sunday's 6-5 loss to the division-rival Baltimore Orioles, going 3-for-3 with a home run, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored. The home run was Grisham's sixth of the season in his first year in the Bronx after being acquired by the Yankees from the San Diego Padres as part of the Juan Soto deal. The 27-year-old left-handed-hitting outfielder has been playing more regularly of late with Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) on the injured list, as it has allowed center fielder Aaron Judge to take over designated hitter duties more often. Despite Grisham's strong performance to close out the first half of the season on Sunday, he's still hitting just .195/.301/.389 with a .690 OPS and will return to being a fourth outfielder for the Bombers when Stanton returns to the active roster.
