2 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Trent Grisham is taking a spot on the bench to begin Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Gold Glove caliber fielder is slashing .205/.322/.378 this season with four long balls, 17 runs, and 12 RBI. With lefty Julio Urias on the bump, the left-handed Grisham will hand things over to Adam Engel, who's batting ninth. The 31-year-old has played just two games this year after dealing with an injury. Engel doesn't have a hit yet, but he wasn't much of a threat with the bat in 2022, batting .224 with two homers across 119 games. It's better to stay off of him in favor of a better offensive threat.--Spencer Seguin
