2 mins agoFree-agent running back Travis Homer re-signed with the Chicago Bears on Monday on a one-year, $2 million deal, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Homer will be back for a third year in the Windy City and is currently the No. 3 behind D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson. The 26-year-old former sixth-round selection (204th overall) by the Seattle Seahawks in 2019 out of the University of Miami (FL) saw a grand total of six rushing attempts for 23 yards while catching three of four targets for 11 yards in 26 games (no starts) over the last two years in Chicago, so he hasn't been a very big part of the offense. A hamstring injury kept him sidelined for the final three games in 2024, but he should be good to go for training camp this summer. Homer will once again be nowhere near the fantasy radar for the Bears heading into 2025 drafts.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

2 months agoThe Chicago Bears ruled out running back Travis Homer (hamstring) for the Week 18 regular season finale on Sunday at Lambeau Field against the division-rival Green Bay Packers. It doesn't come as much of a surprise since Homer has been sidelined with his hamstring injury since Week 15. When healthy, the 26-year-old was buried on Chicago's RB depth chart this year in a bad offense behind both D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson. That limited role afforded him just six rushing attempts for 23 yards while also catching three passes for 11 yards. Homer mainly contributed on special teams for Chicago in his second year with the team. The former sixth-round selection by the Seattle Seahawks in 2019 out of Miami didn't see a single carry and failed to catch his only target in 16 games with the Bears in 2023. Homer will become an unrestricted free agent in March and will look for a bigger role elsewhere.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

3 months agoChicago Bears running back Travis Homer (hamstring) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Seattle Seahawks. Homer will miss his second consecutive game after injuring his practice in last Friday's practice, missing the Week 16 game versus the Detroit Lions. The 26-year-old did not practice this week and was eventually ruled out. Homer hasn't had much of a role as Chicago's No. 3 back, with three carries and three catches over his last two games. D'Andre Swift, Roschon Johnson, and Darrynton Evans will lead Chicago's backfield with Homer sidelined. Swift is the only realistic fantasy option this week, while Johnson is more of a deep-league flier in Week 17.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller

3 months agoChicago Bears running back Travis Homer (hamstring) was absent from Monday's practice session. This doesn't come as much of a surprise after Homer missed Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions. The loss of Homer doesn't mean much for this offense considering he has only played in three games this season. He'll continue to serve as the third string back to D'Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson in the backfield. That being said, Homer is unlikely to have much of a role even if he's cleared in time for the Week 17 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

3 months agoChicago Bears running back Travis Homer (hamstring) is officially inactive for Week 16 against the Detroit Lions. He was a late addition to the injury report on Friday, fetching a "doubtful" designation after logging a limited practice. Darrynton Evans will operate as the Bears' No. 3 running back behind Swift and Johnson.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller
