Travis Homer Could Be Third-Down Back
6 years agoSeattle Seahawks rookie running back Travis Homer, the team's sixth-round draft pick, has been lauded for his receiving abilities and could be in play to see work on third downs in 2019. He will be given every chance to make the team's roster and is a very intriguing option. Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny figure to be the lead backs this year and both figure to catch passes, so there might not be much work left behind them. With Mike Davis now in Chicago, C.J. Prosise, J.D. McKissic and Bo Scarbrough will compete with Homer for third on the depth chart. The leading contenders for a third-down role figure to be Homer and Prosise, so keep the rookie in mind in deep PPR leagues if he wins the job. Homer's expertise on special teams should secure him a 53-man roster spot this summer.
