Travis Frederick Hangs Up His Cleats
5 years agoDallas Cowboys center Travis Frederick announced on his Twitter account on Monday that he is retiring from football after seven years and six seasons in the league. Frederick started every game from 2013 to 2017 and earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2016 while also making five Pro Bowls, including four from 2014-17. He was unfortunately diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome in 2018, an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks the body's nervous system. It caused him to miss all of 2018, but he returned last season and earned his fifth Pro Bowl honors. As a result of the disease, he's retiring at just 29 years old.
