Travis Etienne Jr. On The Week 5 Injury Report
Travis Etienne Jr. (shoulder) is on the team's Week 5 injury report after being limited in the first practice of the week on Wednesday. Fellow RB Tank Bigsby (shoulder) was also listed as limited. Etienne injured his shoulder in the Week 4 loss to the division-rival Houston Texans before eventually returning, but it led to a bigger role for Bigsby, who had seven carries for a season-high 90 yards on the ground. The 25-year-old Etienne had 11 carries for 50 yards and caught one pass for 10 yards. Both RBs should be available to play in Week 5 versus the division-rival Indianapolis Colts, but Bigsby's efficient performance last week could lead Jacksonville to give him a bigger piece of the backfield pie as the Jags look for their first win of 2024. Etienne should be viewed as an RB2 in fantasy, with Bigsby becoming a more appealing RB3/flex in deeper formats.

Travis Etienne Jr. Underwhelming In Overtime Loss
Travis Etienne Jr. struggled to find much space in a 26-23 overtime loss to the Indianapolis Colts. He finished with 13 carries for 31 yards as well as three catches for 29 yards. The 25-year-old back out of Clemson had the worst season of his young career, struggling to find efficient yardage in a lackluster offense. While it still seems Etienne Jr. is much better in the passing game than backup Tank Bigsby, Bigsby seemed to take over as the lead rusher and goal-line back. Maybe with a healthy offense and improved roster next season, Etienne Jr. can get back on track, but he will likely still have Bigsby nipping at his heels. Expect Etienne Jr. to remain involved, but not as a workhorse back in the 2025 NFL season.

Travis Etienne Jr. A Low-Ceiling Flex Against Colts
Travis Etienne Jr. doesn't have much upside in a meaningless final game against the Indianapolis Colts. Etienne Jr. has been splitting touches out of the backfield with Tank Bigsby for most of the season, and Bigsby has looked like the better back for the most part. The 25-year-old back has had a disappointing season due to the lackluster offense and less-than-ideal volume. That shouldn't change this week and could even sway more towards Bigsby given he is the younger of the two backs. On the contrary, the two backs could also be playing to make a case for more volume next year, which could mean both have solid outings despite limited volume. Consider Etienne Jr. a decent starting option in Week 18.

Travis Etienne Jr. Totals 75 Yards In Victory Over Titans
Travis Etienne Jr. put up 75 total yards on 16 touches in a 20-13 victory over the Tennessee Titans. The 25-year-old back out of Clemson finished with 15 carries for 49 yards and one catch for 26 yards. Etienne Jr. once again got a larger share of backfield touches than teammate Tank Bigsby. The even split throughout the season has greatly limited each player's fantasy value, and that didn't change in Week 17. The passing game was surprisingly more efficient in this game, with Etienne Jr. and Bigsby both averaging around three yards per carry. Mac Jones also tossed two touchdowns including one from two yards out, while the running game couldn't find the end zone. Overall, Etienne Jr. has been one of the most disappointing fantasy players this season. The Jaguars face the Indianapolis Colts in Week 18.

Travis Etienne Jr. A Flex, At Best, Against Titans
Travis Etienne Jr. is a decent start, but not ideal in Week 17 against the Tennessee Titans. The 25-year-old back gets a slight boost in PPR, as his role while playing with Tank Bigsby seems to be the passing down back along with a random number of carries. Given how the Jaguars have oscillated between who gets more touches out of the backfield, it is hard to trust both Etienne Jr. or Bigsby. For example, when the Jaguars faced the Titans in Week 14, Etienne Jr. only got four carries, but the following week he got 14. The volume just isn't there for him to have much upside, making him not a great option for teams competing for a championship. While he has a chance for a decent fantasy day, Etienne Jr. is not an ideal flex option in Week 17.
