Travis d'Arnaud Absent Again Monday
1 year agoAtlanta Braves catcher Travis d'Arnaud is once again missing from the club's starting lineup Monday night as they open up a series with the lowly Oakland A's. The veteran backstop hasn't seen game action since Friday, when he doubled and scored a run as part of a two-hit effort against the Phillies. The reason behind his continued absence is unclear, but with fellow catcher Sean Murphy enjoying a massive season at the plate, d'Arnaud has seen his playing time dip while he also missed significant time with a concussion. The 34-year-old is hitting .317 on the season, albeit with just one homer and four doubles across 62 trips to the plate.
