Touki Toussaint Returns To Majors, Earns Win In Relief
6 years agoAtlanta Braves pitcher Touki Toussaint was called back up from Triple-A Gwinnett on Friday and reliever Shane Carle was optioned in a corresponding move. The 22-year-old might not be up for long, but he earned his second win of the season by allowing one run in four innings while striking out six and lowering his ERA to 6.35 in relief of Kevin Gausman, who was ejected. Toussaint threw 76 pitches, so he may be sent right back to Gwinnett for a fresh arm. The right-hander is the team's No. 6 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and has a lot of fantasy upside, but only if he's in the rotation. Despite his lackluster numbers overall between the majors and minors this year, the Braves have a lot of confidence in him, so he's worth stashing in dynasty/keeper leagues.
