1 year agoCarolina Hurricanes defenseman Tony DeAngelo finds himself part of a stacked blue line for the 2023-24, but he is looking forward to the challenge of battling for ice time. "I think everybody should want to battle for ice time. There's nothing given to you," DeAngelo told Cory Lavalette of The Athletic. "When you come in, certain guys are gonna get it, that is what it is. But they deserve it, too. For me, I know I can play." In the same interview with Lavalette, DeAngelo notes that the current Hurricanes backline is probably the best ever assembled in the cap era. It's definitely going to be a huge challenge for him to make his mark on the team, but DeAngelo's offensive ability is a great asset for Carolina, and it certainly gives him an edge over some of his teammates.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
