Tommy Milone Dealing With Tender Trap Muscle
5 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles kept pitcher Tommy Milone (trapezius) back in camp to throw a simulated game on Tuesday because he's dealing with a "tender trap," according to manager Brandon Hyde. The Orioles are just playing this one cautiously, and they didn't want Milone to make his injury worse while taking a long bus ride. The 33-year-old southpaw gives the O's some rotation depth, but he has very little fantasy upside and shouldn't be owned in mixed leagues, even if he wins a rotation spot to begin the season. Milone had a 4.76 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a weak 7.6 K/9 in 23 outings (six starts) for the Mariners last season. He won't even be all that attractive in AL-only leagues if he's making starts in 2020.
