Tommy La Stella Could Begin Rehab Assignment Soon
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants' second baseman Tommy La Stella (hand/hamstring) could begin a rehab assignment during the All-Star break. He's been sidelined since the beginning of May with a left hamstring strain. The 32-year-old also sustained a small fracture in his throwing hand during a rehab assignment in late June. Barring any setbacks, La Stella could return shortly after the All-Star break. He wasn't great before landing on the injured list, slashing .235/.297/.353 with one homer, five RBI, and eight runs scored over 25 games. Fantasy managers should continue to stash La Stella on the IL if they can, but the Giants infielder is mainly an option in deep-league formats. Donovan Solano will continue to handle second base duties while La Stella is sidelined.
