5 months agoThere's no doubting the fact that Tommy Fleetwood has been a model of consistency lately. The 33-year-old Brit has only missed one cut in his fifteen starts in the 2024 calendar year, and he hasn't finished outside of the top-26 in five consecutive starts. But Fleetwood isn't a prolific birdie-maker and has more of a reputation for contending on courses with difficult courses where his overall tee-to-green play can be a true differentiator. That anecdote may help explain the results in his last two appearances here, losing strokes ball-striking en route to finishes of T46 in 2022 and a missed cut in 2023. The statistics don't paint a rosy picture this week either, as Fleetwood ranks outside of the top-20 golfers in the field on overall approach, overall tee-to-green, opportunities gained, Bentgrass putting, and strokes gained on both short and easy courses. That isn't appetizing for the eighth highest-priced golfer on the slate this week, and fantasy managers should strongly consider pivoting to higher-upside options as a result.--Ryan Hickey
