Tomas Nido's MRI Comes Back Clean
2 years agoNew York Mets catcher Tomas Nido (forearm) underwent an MRI on his left forearm on Sunday. According to Nido, the MRI showed "nothing newsworthy." Mets manager Buck Showalter stated that Nido wasn't available for Sunday's game against the Chicago Cubs unless an emergency came up, but it did not. With fellow catcher James McCann (oblique) on the injured list, Nido's health is particularly worth watching. The team has top catching prospect Francisco Alvarez waiting in the wings at Triple-A. It seems as if Nido will avoid the injured list this time around, meaning the team will continue forward with Nido and Patrick Mazeika until McCann is back.
