6 years agoSan Jose Sharks center Tomas Hertl ended a two-game point drought in the first-round series against Vegas with a pair of goals, helping the team survive for another day. He scored the team's first and fourth goal -- a power-play marker -- in an eventual 5-2 win. Barclay Goodrow tallied the game-winner, while Logan Couture and Joe Pavelski also scored. Erik Karlsson continued his good start to the playoffs with two assists. Hertl now has four goals this postseason, which has him tied for second place behind Vegas' Mark Stone (six). The Sharks will try to fight off elimination once more on Sunday.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoVegas Golden Knights forward Tomas Hertl (shoulder) is set to miss at least a week of action. After Hertl hurt his shoulder in Sunday's matchup against the Tampa Bay Lightning, Golden Knights general manager Kelly McCrimmon announced that the Czechia star would not join the team for this week's three-game road trip, which starts on Tuesday against the Minnesota Wild. Nicolas Roy is expected to take over as the second-line center in Tuesday's game. The 28-year-old has found his scoring gloves lately, lighting the lamp in back-to-back games. Tanner Pearson will fill the hole in the lineup, joining the fourth line. Victor Olofsson will move up to the third line against Minnesota.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoVegas Golden Knights center Tomas Hertl (arm) is being evaluated after exiting Sunday's contest against the Tampa Bay Lightning early. Hertl suffered this injury during the final frame after being hit hard on the boards. As he was exiting the game, he was grabbing his arm in pain. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status leading up to their next contest on Tuesday evening against the Minnesota Wild. Before exiting, Hertl found the back of the net to extend his goal-scoring streak to two games. During his previous contest, Hertl posted a hat trick. Over his previous 12 contests, the 31-year-old has found the back of the net nine times and added six helpers. If Hertl were to miss time, fantasy managers should expect William Karlsson to move up to the second offensive line.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoVegas Golden Knights forward Tomas Hertl provided half of the goals as the team cruised past the Detroit Red Wings 6-3 on Saturday. He scored twice on the power play and celebrated his eighth career hat trick. Only two weeks have passed since Hertl's last three-goal game. However, he strangely didn't light the lamp in any of the five games between his two hat tricks. Hertl has been among the NHL's top forwards since the turn of the year, totaling 20 goals and 33 points over his last 30 appearances. This has helped him secure his third 30-goal season. Overall, Hertl has recorded 58 points (30 goals, 28 assists) in 69 contests.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller

6 months agoVegas Golden Knights center Tomas Hertl had a memorable night against L.A. on Tuesday, matching his career high with four points in a 6-1 victory. He recorded two goals and two assists, with two points coming on the power play. Hertl also made his presence felt without the puck by delivering three hits. He led all skaters with five shots on goal. The Czech star is now averaging a point per game through seven outings this season. He's had three goals and seven assists with 13 shots. The Golden Knights are rolling and get a couple of juicy matchups next against Ottawa and San Jose, putting Hertl in a good spot to keep up his form.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
