1 year agoOne driver that had surprising speed during the Hollywood Casino 400 practice session at Kansas Speedway this weekend was Todd Gilliland, who posted the 11th-fastest lap in his No. 38 Ford for Front Row Motorsports. He wasn't able to back up that speed in qualifying soon after, though, as the No. 38 car wound up 32nd-fastest out of 36 cars. When it came to ten-lap average in practice, Gilliland ranked 18th-fastest out of 24 cars that made a run of ten or more laps. In the first race here at Kansas this season, Gilliland came home with a 24th-place finish. He wound up in 25th- and 23rd-place in the two Kansas races last season. The mid-20s is likely where Gilliland will end up on Sunday as well.--Jordan McAbee
