Titans Didn't Try To Re-Sign Logan Ryan
5 years agoFree-agent cornerback Logan Ryan said that the Tennessee Titans never offered him a contract to return in free agency after he spent the last three years turning around the team's secondary. The 29-year-old was told that the Titans would "monitor the market" but that he could probably get more on the open market than what the Titans could afford to offer. Tennessee had more than 20 players with expiring contracts, including quarterback Ryan Tannehill and running back Derrick Henry, who led the league in rushing in 2019. Ryan had 4.5 sacks, four interceptions and four forced fumbles last year and joined Adrian Wilson (2006) and Thomas Davis (2015) as the only players since 2000 with at least four sacks, four picks and four forced fumbles in a season. Ryan was even willing to return on a one-year deal, but the Titans weren't interested in that after picking up Adoree' Jackson's fifth-year option and drafting Kristian Fulton with the 61st overall pick.
