Tigers Option Bryan Garcia To Triple-A
3 years agoThe Detroit Tigers optioned relief pitcher Bryan Garcia to Triple-A on Sunday. The team replaced him on the roster with another Garcia, fellow reliever Rony Garcia. Bryan Garcia began the year as one of the team's primary relievers and looked to even have a shot at being a primary closing option for the team. He recorded two saves within the first few weeks of the year. However, he's struggled over the course of the year and has a 4.27 ERA and 1.51 WHIP. Rony Garcia, meanwhile, made his MLB debut with the Tigers last year. He's been solid at Triple-A this year, pitching to a 3.20 ERA and 1.17 WHIP over four appearances, all as a starter. He's likely to work in middle relief with the team while he's up.
