6 years agoTiger Woods shot an even-par 70 in the opening round of the Quicken Loans National Thursday. Woods made an ugly double-bogey on his front nine due to an horrendous tee shot on the sixth hole, before bouncing back with two birdies coming in. There has been lots of media attention on his switch to a mallet-style putter this week, but Woods continued to struggle on the greens after the change. He was 92nd in strokes gained: putting in the field Thursday. The 14-time major champion will need to get some putts to drop Friday in order to get himself into contention.--Joe Nicely - RotoBaller
