Tiger Woods Grinds Out Opening-Round 70

The first round of the 2019 U.S. Open proved to be a grind for the man that made Pebble Beach look easy in 2000. Tiger Woods shot an opening-round 70 Thursday, but it was apparent that his game wasn't fully clicking. The 15-time major winner overcame a double-bogey on the fifth hole to shoot one-under par on the front nine. He then played the back nine in even par to finish at one under for the round and five shots behind the leader Justin Rose. Tiger's iron play will need to be much sharper if he hopes to grab his 16th major championship this week.
