Thomas Hatch Leaves Start With Injury
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays starter Thomas Hatch (elbow, forearm) yelped while delivering his final pitch of the game on Wednesday — a 94 mph fastball. The young pitcher walked off the mound and called to the dugout for assistance. He was seen flexing his fingers and favoring his elbow/forearm area. The Blue Jays released a statement advising that Hatch had been removed from the game after experiencing elbow and forearm discomfort. He's been sent for additional testing to determine the severity of the injury. The news comes as a blow to the Jays starting pitching depth, as the club is already without top prospect Nate Pearson, who is dealing with a groin injury, and Patrick Murphy, who has a shoulder injury.
