7 months agoPittsburgh Pirates pitching prospect Thomas Harrington has been sharp since being promoted to Triple-A and was just named International League Pitcher of the Week. The 23-year-old right-hander features plus pitches with his fastball, slider, and changeup and is known for having good command of his arsenal. 8 months agoPittsburgh Pirates pitching prospect Thomas Harrington had another dominant outing at Double-A Altoona on Wednesday, going seven innings, allowing one earned run on five hits and two walks while striking out 11. It was the 22-year-old's second consecutive outing in which he lasted seven innings and the righty now owns a 2.41 ERA, a 1.02 WHIP, and a 9:62 BB:K in 59 2/3 IP on the season. Harrington is Pittsburgh's fourth-ranked prospect and has an ETA of 2025 per MLB.com. The 36th-overall pick has got the talent to be a capable starter in the majors so dynasty managers would be wise to keep tabs on him.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller

8 months agoPittsburgh Pirates pitching prospect Thomas Harrington dazzled in his Fourth of July start for Double-A Altoona on Thursday, going seven scoreless scattering three hits and two walks with six strikeouts. The 22-year-old lowered his ERA at Altoona this year to 2.72 with a 1.05 WHIP. It was the longest outing of the year for the No. 4 prospect in the Pirates' system. The right-hander possesses an excellent fastball-slider combination and is turning in a very good season at Double-A. It looks like a promotion to Triple-A could be in short order for Harrington. He is another name to watch in the Pirates' pitching pipeline.--Brian Buckey - RotoBaller

9 months agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitching prospect Thomas Harrington has looked comfortable through his first taste of Double-A ball. After having his start to the season delayed due to a right rotator cuff strain, the 22-year-old has held a 3.13 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, and a near-perfect 2:33 BB:K ratio. The 2022 draft pick spent the majority of last year's campaign with High-A Greensboro and posted a 3.87 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, and a 29:106 BB:K ratio. MLB Pipeline ranks the young right-hander as the number five prospect in the Steel City and projects him to reach the majors next season. Harrington is worth monitoring in dynasty leagues and could become an interesting stash candidate if he continues to showcase his excellent command.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
