5 years agoThe New York Yankees optioned infielder Thairo Estrada to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday night in order to make room for shortstop Didi Gregorius (elbow), who will come off the injured list and make his season debut on Friday. In just 50 at-bats as a utility infielder, Estrada excelled by hitting .280/.321/.520 with three home runs, 10 runs, 11 RBI and two steals. The team's infield is just too crowded now with the return of Gregorius, but Estrada will be the first one back up if another Yankees infielder goes down with an injury the rest of the year.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
