Tevin Coleman's Role Could Increase
6 years agoAtlanta Falcons running back Tevin Coleman, who ran for a career-high 628 yards and five touchdowns in 2017, said the team wants to use him more as a receiver. “They want to use me more,” Coleman said. “Line me up out wide and stuff like that. It’s going to be pretty cool.” Atlanta has used Coleman more each year since his rookie year in 2015, and he's hit it off with new running backs coach Bernie Parmalee during offseason workouts. Entering a contract year, Coleman would like to improve on his numbers last year. It'll be hard to do with Devonta Freeman also splitting the workload in the backfield, but Coleman remains a valuable fantasy commodity after he caught 27 passes in 2017. At the very least, Coleman is a handcuff for Freeman owners, and he can carve out RB3/flex value in PPR leagues.
