Teddy Bridgewater Named Broncos Starting Quarterback
3 years agoThe Denver Broncos have named Teddy Bridgewater the team's starting quarterback. Bridgewater has been in a quarterback competition with Drew Lock this offseason. Both players have looked relatively good throughout training camp, but Bridgewater gained the upper hand. Bridgewater certainly outplayed Lock in the team's last preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks. The former Louisville star completed 9-of-11 passing attempts for 105 yards and a touchdown. He didn't turn the ball over or surrender any sacks. Lock, meanwhile, completed 9-of-14 passing attempts for 80 yards. He was sacked twice and he also fumbled twice, though the team recovered both fumbles. Bridgewater should be able to provide for more consistent quarterback play than Lock, making this development good news for Broncos pass-catchers such as Jerry Jeudy, Courtland Sutton (knee) and Noah Fant (leg).
