Teams Have Serious Concern Over Tua Tagovailoa's Durability
5 years agoA total of 18 NFL executives in personnel were asked how concerned they were regarding Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa's injury history, and their responses indicated plenty of worry about the short-term and long-term future of the left-handed thrower. A handful of red flags jump out when discussing Tagovailoa because of multiple injuries during his college career, including his hip, surgeries on both ankles, a sprained knee and surgery on his hand. On top of that, interested teams haven't been able to have their own doctors take a look at him during the draft evaluation process, although Tua's doctors continue to say his hip is fully healed and not at risk of re-injury. There's still a chance that Tagovailoa comes off the board within the first 10 picks, but he's become a pretty big risk as a franchise signal-caller because of his medical history.
