Taylor Walls Placed On The Injured List

The Tampa Bay Rays placed shortstop Taylor Walls (wrist) on the injured list on Thursday because of right wrist tendinitis. Walls made his Major League debut earlier this season and has hit .222 with a .337 on-base percentage in 95 plate appearances. He has also added three stolen bases and a home run. The shortstop's 14.7% walk rate is particularly eye-catching, and while it has come in a small sample size, it's right in line with Walls' minor league walk rates. He's probably only a stash candidate in the deepest of leagues where on-base percentage is used instead of batting average. Wander Franco, the top prospect in baseball, should start at shortstop most days with Walls on the injured list.
