Taylor Rogers Earns Rough Save Monday
2 years agoSan Diego Padres closer Taylor Rogers didn't make it look pretty but did earn his 24th save of the season in Monday's 6-5 win over the Rockies. Rodgers came in to pitch the ninth inning up by three. He allowed a leadoff single, got the next two hitters out on a flyout and strikeout, but then allowed back-to-back RBI doubles before getting the final out on a ground out. Rogers has been very reliable for the most part this season, but he has now allowed at least one earned run in each of his last five outings, bringing his ERA up to a lackluster 4.04. His strikeouts and walks are both solid and he has strong job security, so fantasy managers should stick with him for now and hope he can clear this rough patch.
