Taylor Moore Needs To Get Off To Better Start
9 months agoTaylor Moore heads to The Open Championship off a missed cut. The American golfer shot an opening round 75 last Thursday. Although he followed that up with a 68, Moore did not see the weekend. Links golf is a different beast as the golfer learned quickly. Last year at Royal Liverpool, Moore shot a +4 to miss the cut. A big concern is that 137th ranking in strokes gained approaching the green (-0.316). Shots never go as they seem at Royal Troon so Moore will have to find a way to avoid bogeys early. Expect the American to be tested early and often in the cool and potentially damp at times conditions.

Taylor Moore An Intriguing Option At Mexican Open
1 month agoTaylor Moore has found success early in 2025, recording three top-25 finishes, including two top-10s in his first five events of the year. He now looks ahead to the Mexican Open, where his lone result at this event was a missed cut last year. This course favors players who are long off the tee and proficient with long irons, as 63.5% of all approach shots came from 175-plus yards at this event last year. Moore certainly fits the bill, averaging 310 yards with his driver and ranking inside the top 30 in both strokes gained off the tee and strokes gained from tee to green. To find success this weekend, Moore will need to hit greens in regulation, and he ranks in the 68th percentile from 200-plus yards in this category. At $9,000 on DraftKings, Moore is a strong fantasy option this week.

Taylor Moore Attempts To Put Torrey Pines Behind Him
2 months agoTaylor Moore played better each day at the Farmers Insurance Open. The American golfer then endured a nightmare final round. Moore shot an 80 which was 5.2 strokes above the average. Moore could not make birdies, could not get close to the green, hit errant shots, etc. He netted five bogeys and a triple bogey. After a round like that, Moore gets ready for Pebble Beach. Conditions expect to be better weather wise. He did have a Top 15 result at the event in 2023. Moore is +17000 on DraftKings and may be a cheap enough option from a DFS perspective this week. At just $6,400, that does save salary for the top-tiered golfers.

Taylor Moore Finishes Strong At American Express
2 months agoTaylor Moore finished tied for seventh at last week's American Express and is now preparing for this week's Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, California. His results at this tournament have been mixed, with a T70 finish in 2022, a T11 finish in 2023, and missing the cut in 2024. Over the past 12 months, Moore ranks in the 47th percentile for greens in regulation percentage on approach shots from over 200 yards in the fairway. This is notable because, at last year's Farmers Insurance Open, over 34% of approach shots were taken from this distance. Given his past performance at the event, Moore should be considered for DFS lineups this week.

Taylor Moore's Struggles Continue Ahead Of American Express
3 months agoTaylor Moore had a rough start to 2025 at the Sony Open, posting back-to-back rounds of 74 on Thursday and Friday to finish four-over and miss the cut by seven strokes. This marks his second missed cut in his last three events, with a T35 at the RSM Classic being the only bright spot during that stretch. While his recent form has been up and down, Moore entered the year with some momentum. In 2024, he made the cut in 22 of 29 events, registered eight top-25 finishes, and was the runner-up at the Texas Children's Houston Open. Despite the strong season, Moore has struggled in his past trips to La Quinta, missing the cut in 2023 and finishing T67 in 2022. To contend at this low-scoring tournament, he will need to avoid bogeys, something that has been a challenge, as he ranked just 101st in this category last season. Pete Dye courses, known for their abundance of bunkers, also place a premium on driving accuracy, where Moore ranked 127th on tour in 2024. With a modest price tag of $7,100 on DraftKings, Moore may be an option for fantasy managers, but given his recent form and struggles at this course, caution is advised before adding him to lineups.
