Tanner Scott Secures Second Save On Saturday
2 years agoMiami Marlins reliever Tanner Scott allowed one hit while striking out two across a scoreless inning to earn his second save in Saturday's 7-6 win over the Chicago Cubs. He entered the ninth inning to protect a one-run lead. The 28-year-old allowed a single to Seiya Suzuki but bounced back by striking out the next two hitters he faced to earn his second save of the year. A.J. Puk is Miami's primary closer but had pitched in back-to-back days, so the Marlins turned to Scott for the team's save chance on Saturday. Scott owns a 5.73 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and 12 strikeouts over 11 innings in 2023, and he mainly holds value in leagues that reward saves and holds.
