Tanner Houck Optioned To Triple-A
4 years agoWith the return of ace Eduardo Rodriguez, the Boston Red Sox optioned starting pitcher Tanner Houck to their alternative site in Worcester on Wednesday. Houck started in place of Rodriguez in the Red Sox's second game of the season and pitched well, allowing just two runs in five inning while striking out eight. With Rodriguez coming back and Nick Pivetta having a strong season debut on Monday, Houck had very little chance of sticking with the rotation no matter how well he pitched. What he did prove was that he could pitch at the big league level, and his stay in the minors could be a short one. Houck is worth stashing in dynasty/keeper leagues.
