Tanner Bibee Throws Six Scoreless Innings For Columbus
2 years agoGuardians right-handed pitching prospect Tanner Bibee threw six scoreless innings with eight strikeouts in his second Triple-A start. The 24-year-old has had an incredible minor league career with a 2.00 ERA and 182 strikeouts in 27 starts. Bibee's star pitch on Thursday was his fastball, which topped out at 99.4 mph and had a 29% CSW rate. That fastball and his plus command give him a legitimate shot at being a solid MLB starter very soon. The Cal State-Fullerton product has the experience edge over top Guardians pitching prospects Daniel Espino and Gavin Williams, so if a big-leaguer goes down this year, Bibee is likely the first guy up.
