T.J. Hockenson Contract Talks May Intensify Soon
1 year agoAccording to Kevin Seifert of ESPN, contract talks between the Vikings and tight end T.J. Hockenson may progress "later this summer," primarily since the club is currently focused on a new deal for wide receiver Justin Jefferson. Minnesota signed free agent Josh Oliver this offseason, putting Hockenson's long-term future with the Vikings in question. However, head coach Kevin O'Connell has a plan for the pair, indicating his excitement for how versatile things can be on offense. The 25-year-old began the 2022 season with the Lions, the team that drafted him in 2019 and appeared in seven games, totaling 26 catches for 395 yards and three touchdowns. He was then traded to Minnesota ahead of the deadline, suiting up for 10 games and amassing 60 receptions for 519 yards and three touchdowns. Although Hockenson hasn't been the most consistent tight end, fantasy managers who don't value the position should look in his direction during fantasy drafts, especially since he'll likely have more than a few productive showings this season.
