10 months agoOn Sunday, Supercars points leader Will Brown finished 31st in the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway. Despite having his day ended prematurely due to electrical issues, the Australian native ran a solid race, working his way up to 11th place at one point in the afternoon. Given that he posted the third-best time in Friday's practice (73.389), and with the attention fellow Supercars standout Shane van Gisbergen gained following his victory in Chicago last summer, Brown did get 16.21% ownership in DraftKings featured contest, which was higher than Cup favorites William Byron and Christopher Bell. Although the 5.70 DraftKings points he scored fell well short of delivering value on his $7,200 salary, the fact that he was competitive at various points in Sunday's race will make him a driver to consider if he returns stateside again down the road.--Adam Erhardt - RotoBaller

10 months agoAfter Shane van Gisbergen's surprise win last year, NASCAR teams have hired Supercars drivers en masse hoping to replicate SVG's results. This weekend's winners of the Supercars sweepstakes are current points leader, Will Brown, and most recent race winner, Cameron Waters. After Brown surprisingly was third-fastest in practice at Sonoma this weekend, many fans speculated that Brown might repeat SVG's feat, especially since he said after his win, "Any of the top 10 in Supercars are good enough to... do what I just did". However, Shane is a generational talent while Brown and Waters are not. Last year, Brodie Kostecki vastly outperformed Brown when they were Supercars teammates and Kostecki only started 11th and finished 22nd in the same car at Indianapolis last year. Although Brown is also driving the No. 33, he is an inferior driver with an inferior crew chief and he is starting 24th. Expect a mid-pack run at best for Brown at Sonoma.--Sean Wrona - RotoBaller
