5 years agoBoston Red Sox pitcher Steven Wright (knee), who was suspended 80 games for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing drugs in spring training, is eligible to start a minor league rehab assignment on June 10, 15 days before the team can activate him onto the 25-man roster. The knuckleballer has already thrown a pair of two-inning simulated games last Tuesday and Saturday and is scheduled to go three innings on Wednesday. The right-hander's knee has been fine so far. However, he'll likely strictly be a bullpen arm after posting a 1.52 ERA in 16 relief outings in 2018. Because of his suspension, Wright won't be eligible for the playoffs if the Red Sox qualify.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
