Steven Matz Throws Five Scoreless Innings on Tuesday
6 years agoNew York Mets southpaw Steven Matz shut out the Philadelphia Phillies for five innings on Tuesday night. Matz allowed just two hits, but walked five batters to go along with four strikeouts. The lefty had to work his way out of jams all night, and the bullpen could not preserve the lead, giving Matz a no-decision. However, the outing lowered his ERA on the season to a respectable 4.03. His next start will likely come this weekend against the Washington Nationals.
