Steven Matz Gives Up Two Home Runs In Loss
5 years agoAfter recording a blowout victory Tuesday night, the New York Mets dropped another game to the Atlanta Braves Wednesday as starter Steven Matz took the loss. The New York native went five innings and surrendered five runs on six hits and four walks. In the opening frame he allowed a two-run blast after his team initially took the lead. While his offense tied the game, Matz fell apart in the sixth, allowing three more runs. The defeat dropped his record back to 5-5. The 28-year-old's next start is scheduled for Monday against the Philadelphia Phillies.
