Steelers Plan To Tender Dwayne Haskins
3 years agoPittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert said the team plans to place a tender on impending restricted free-agent quarterback Dwayne Haskins. "Dwayne will be a restricted free agent, and I'm sure we'll decide to tender him at some point. So we have Dwayne and we have Mason," Colbert said. The tender they put on him is unlikely to be a high one, which will allow them to hang onto the former first-rounder for cheap. The Steelers are likely to add another QB either through free agency, a trade or the draft, but Haskins and Mason Rudolph are expected to compete for the starting job this summer. Haskins lasted just 16 games with the Washington Commanders before being released in 2020. He has a big arm but proved to be slow with his decisions and inaccurate.
