Starling Marte Told To Rest For 15 Days

New York Mets outfielder Starling Marte (knee) is dealing with a bone inflammation in his right knee and has been told to rest for 15 days. The Mets haven't officially placed Marte on the injured list, but that's likely where this is headed. The 35-year-old veteran outfielder went for an MRI exam on Monday after experiencing soreness in his right knee this weekend. With Marte set to take a few weeks off to rest his knee, fantasy managers probably won't get him back before the All-Star break in mid-July. It's a tough break for fantasy managers and the Mets, as Marte has been productive this year, slashing .278/.328/.416 with seven home runs, 30 RBI, 12 stolen bases and 38 runs scored in his 245 at-bats. Keep him stashed in all fantasy formats. DJ Stewart and Tyrone Taylor will battle for extra playing time in the Mets' outfield with Marte likely heading to the IL.
