Spencer Jones Getting Hot At Double-A
4 months agoNew York Yankees outfield prospect Spencer Jones had a big finish in July at Double-A. This was a great sign as Jones started the month by tallying just three hits across seven games with a 3:14 BB:K ratio. However, in his past 13 games, the 23-year-old has held a much-improved .260/.356/.480 slash line with three doubles, one triple, three long balls, eight RBI, and three stolen bases. Overall, through his first extended look at Double-A pitching, Jones holds a .240/.323/.412 line with a rough 40:141 BB:K ratio. The center fielder will need to continue to drop his strikeout rate to earn a taste of Triple-A later this summer. Jones is considered the second-best prospect in the Yankee system on MLB.com and 72nd overall. He could have an opportunity to spend most of next summer at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre
